The Challenge

Vision Greens, a Canadian-founded vertical farming company in Welland, Ontario, had just closed a $7M raise — backed by patent-pending technology rooted in NASA research on growing food in space. The challenge: turn a funding milestone into national credibility, proving to grocery buyers and investors alike that a regional farm was a category leader in sustainable food.

Our Approach

Verified Communications built a dual B2B and B2C strategy around the raise. We developed the messaging and media-trained the CEO, hosted press at the Welland farm, and leaned into the NASA-rooted technology story to turn a regional company into a national one. We landed the CEO’s interview on CBC and broke the funding news in BetaKit, then carried the story into consumer and lifestyle press with a chef-led event at Toronto’s NOCE. We also directed the campaign photography — used across earned media and Vision Greens’ own social channels — and wrote and produced their social content end to end.

Coverage & Recognition

The $7M raise — and its NASA-rooted technology story — earned feature coverage across tech, business and news press, including BetaKit, CBC, Canadian Manufacturing, SustainableBiz, the Welland Tribune and the Toronto Star — plus national radio and broadcast interviews reaching audiences across Canada.

The campaign delivered 36 million earned impressions in six weeks and roughly $3M in earned media value, driving a surge in consumer sales and inbound investor interest.
